Mukesh and Aishwarya’s Hebbar Iyengar Wedding in Holenarasipura

Photographing my cousin Mukesh’s wedding was an amazing experience, as it gave me the opportunity to document an elaborate Hebbar Iyengar wedding. More importantly, it allowed me to photograph my own family. Funnily enough, despite being a photographer, I rarely get to document them in this way. For nearly a week, my family came together - from different parts of India, and the globe - to celebrate Mukesh and Aishwarya.

Mukesh and Aishwarya have always wanted to find their life partners through their families. And that’s exactly how they met, after Mukesh’s chitti (aunt) called Aishwarya’s chitti one evening. How one phone call can change your life! The pre wedding shoot was a blast, because they both are literally the sweetest people I know. No exaggeration. We explored a beautiful stretch of the Cauvery river, and also walked around the streets of Mysore. Through the entire shoot, they were so in sync, I’d never have guessed that they have known each other only for two months! Their engagement took place in Mysore, followed by wedding festivities in Holenarasipura, a small town in Hassan, Karnataka.
